Our District Deputy Grand Master
Stephen L. Keissling, Jr.
Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, in 1967, Stephen L. Kiessling, Jr. embarked on a life of service and dedication early on. After graduating from high school in 1985, he enlisted in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. His time in the military provided a solid foundation for his career in law enforcement, which he began as a Corrections Officer before finding his true calling as a Pennsylvania State Trooper in May 1990. Over nearly 27 years, Stephen built a distinguished career with the Pennsylvania State Police.
Upon retiring from the state police, Stephen continued his commitment to public safety by joining the Harrisburg International Airport Police Department, where he currently serves as the Chief of Police. His leadership and experience have been instrumental in maintaining a secure environment at the airport.
Stephen's dedication extends beyond his professional life into his personal passions, particularly Freemasonry. His Masonic journey began on October 30, 2010, at Prince Edwin-Spring Creek Lodge No. 486, which remains his home lodge. Stephen's commitment and leadership were quickly recognized, leading to his service as Worshipful Master on St. John's Day in 2019. He continued to contribute to the fraternity by serving as the Lodge Secretary in 2020 and as Secretary of the 2nd Masonic District School of Instruction later that year. On St. John's Day of 2023, Stephen was honored with the appointment of District Deputy Grand Master of the 2nd Masonic District.
In addition to his involvement in Freemasonry, Stephen has been a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Harrisburg, since November 2017 and serves as an appointed officer in the Lodge of Perfection. He recently joined the National Sojourners, Inc., Harrisburg Chapter #76, further demonstrating his dedication to the principles of Freemasonry and service.
Stephen has been married to his wife, Kathy, for 30 years, and they have one son, Christopher, who is also a member of Prince Edwin-Spring Creek Lodge No. 486. Outside of his professional and Masonic commitments, Stephen enjoys woodworking and spending quality time with his family.
